Volunteer Application Form

Personal Details

Employment and Volunteering Experience

If yes, what are you currently doing?
Please give details of previous relevant experience you have gained from other paid or volunteer roles.

Current Responsibilities

Please let us know if you have any responsibilities that you need to take into account when volunteering – for example childcare responsibilities or studying commitments. This is not a barrier to volunteer but helps us to anticipate when you are free to volunteer.

Relevant Skills and Experience

Please use your own words and experiences.
You can choose more than one.
What was the situation? What did you do? What was the outcome?

References

Please provide contact details of two people who may be approached for references and are not related to you. One of these should be someone who knows you in a work-related, voluntary or academic capacity. Both referees should be able to comment on your suitability for the post you are applying for. References will only be taken up for successful candidates following interview.

Our policy on convictions

Having a criminal record is not in itself a barrier to volunteering, and we will only take relevant convictions or sexual offences into account. Our policy is in place to make sure ex-offenders are treated fairly. We consider each offence individually, looking at issues like risk to the client, how long ago it took place, the circumstances and whether they are relevant to the volunteer role.   Anyone with a caution or conviction for a sexual offence against a child or vulnerable adult is considered unsuitable to volunteer.

Entitlement to work or volunteer

If you are not a UK or Irish citizen, it’s important you check you are permitted to volunteer or carry out ‘unpaid work’ in addition to your main reason for entering the country, to avoid jeopardising your visa status. If you cannot find the answer clearly on your immigration documentation, contact the UK Border Agency. EU/EEA nationals from other countries are entitled to volunteer if they have one of the following statuses to volunteer:
  • Pre-settled status
  • Settled status
  • A visa status that allows volunteering (as outlined on the NCVO website).
Please indicate the days and times you will be available to volunteer
