The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) project is designed to deliver fun activities and nutritious food to over 2,000 eligible children and young people, and their families, across the whole of Coventry this summer.
Funded by the Department for Education over a 100 different clubs will be delivering a wide ranging summer activities programme; and registration starts now.
Places are completely free to children who receive free school meals, with children and young people of all ages and backgrounds welcome.
If you think you might be eligible for benefits related free school meals, but do not currently claim them, find out how to apply on the council’s free school meals web page .
The programmes will run between July 26th and September 4th.
To register you will need to follow a simple 5-step guide:
Step 1 – Set up a Coventry City Council ‘My Account’ (if you have one already you won’t have to do it again), add your child/young person to the HAF booking system, and make a note of your HAF code (you will need it to book activities).
Step 2 – Understand how HAF credits work. Each eligible child has a total of sixteen credits which are used to book activities. Each session booked is worth 1 credit. Some clubs are open to book one session at a time, whilst others require children to attend every session that week.
Step 3 – Decide what to book. Look through the list of activities and consider what you would like to do and when you will be available to do them. You can contact providers directly to find out more about activities.
Step 4 – Book Activities – see below. Once you have booked activities you will receive a confirmation email.
Step 5 – Contact the provider if your child has any additional needs. Explain what additional support your child may need, to see how they can help and to discuss any further information they may need to help make sure the experience is as smooth as possible for you and your family.
