As a Coventry charity enters into its 80th year, Coventry Citizens Advice has found a new Chair to lead the charge in supporting those in need across the city.
Jayne Murphy, accepted the Chair position after a competitive recruitment process held earlier in the year and was formally voted into the role at the Coventry Citizens Advice AGM on 15th November, 2019.
Ms Murphy has served as a Board Director of a Midlands based international technology company and was previously CEO of Coventry Healthcare NHS Trust. She said:
“I am delighted and honoured to take on this position for such a vital service within Coventry. At a time of increasing demand, more complex client needs and reducing resources it is essential that the charity remains fit for purpose and ready for the challenges ahead. I look forward to leading Coventry Citizens Advice in continuing to make a positive difference to thousands of people every year.”
This year, Coventry Citizens advice has helped over 20,000 Coventry citizens with more than 32,000 different issues. The charity does not receive any direct government grants and fundraises locally to provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice and guidance.
